Le voci non sono concordi, in paese: c'è chi dice con «due colpi alla nuca», chi parla di «due colpi alla tempia», chi asserisce «tre colpi». Sta di fatto che la notte tra il 24 e il 25 dicembre Konrad, «persona senza dubbio eccentrica ma al tempo stesso insignificante», ha ammazzato la moglie con una carabina Mannlicher. Sì, quella moglie invalida, «immobilizzata per metà della sua vita in una sedia a rotelle francese costruita apposta per lei». È stata trovata con il cervello spappolato - che «ricordava il formaggio Emmental» precisa il giudice distrettuale - nella loro casa. Sempre che si possa chiamare casa la fornace della calce in disuso dove i due abitavano, e che «già dall'esterno dà l'impressione di un carcere»: completamente isolata, camere vuote, pareti nude, porte sprangate, solide inferriate alle finestre, per «proteggersi contro il mondo esterno al quale erano finalmente riusciti a sottrarsi». Un «luogo di tenebra» dove tutto è «grottesco», ma ideale, anzi indispensabile per Konrad, perché l'assenza quasi assoluta di rumori acuisce straordinariamente le facoltà dell'orecchio, condizione vantaggiosa per il saggio epocale che da decenni sta cercando invano di scrivere, e che si intitolerà L'udito. Un luogo che diventerà teatro del progressivo inabissamento dei due in un microcosmo maniacale e allucinatorio.

Sono pochi i ricercatori che possono e sanno approcciarsi al tema della magia con la dovuta serietà affinché questo non sfoci nel qualunquismo, nell’ovvio, nel ridicolo persino. In questo Saggio l’autore Andrea Antonello Nacci affronta il tema della Magia Caotista con metodica e logica ineccepibili, approcciandosi con la dovuta freddezza di chi intende creare un’opera in grado si di trasmettere conoscenze e sensazioni intense, ma senza che la stessa sfoci nel frivolo sensazionalismo che fa tanto bene al commercio e poco all’evoluzione della coscienza umana. É veramente possibile raggiungere il cuore della dottrina magica e restare comunque curiosi come fanciulli che osservando la crisalide nel suo stato di morte apparente, fantasticano sul colore delle ali della futura farfalla? A mio avviso si, e se ciò non dovesse verificarsi, allora il mago avrebbe certamente fallito nel suo cammino di crescita e consapevolezza. Stregoni, Maghi, Semidei, sono gli attori sull’invisibile scacchiera del destino, entrambi accomunati dall’aver percorso, o star percorrendo, il medesimo sentiero. Personalmente reputo quest’opera un’importante guida capace di informare non solo la parte cosciente del lettore ma anche la sua parte inconscia, fornendo così quell’input in grado di ravvivare la sacra fiamma della consapevolezza superiore, spesso ridotta ad una flebile favilla per colpa di forze esterne che, saggiamente sguinzagliate, riescono a legare gli uomini con invisibili legacci.
