To be Ludwig Wittgenstein by Stefano Donno

Ludwig Wittgenstein was an Austrian philosopher and logician who is widely regarded as one of the most important philosophers of the 20th century. He was born in 1889 in Vienna, Austria, and studied engineering and philosophy at the University of Manchester in England. In 1913, he began studying with Bertrand Russell at Trinity College, Cambridge, and the two became close friends and collaborators.

Wittgenstein is best known for his contributions to the fields of logic and the philosophy of language, and his two major works, "Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus" (1922) and "Philosophical Investigations" (1953), are considered classics in their respective fields. In the "Tractatus," Wittgenstein developed a system of logical notation and used it to explore the relationship between language and the world. In the "Philosophical Investigations," he argued that the meaning of words is determined by their use in a language, rather than by their relationship to objects in the world.

Wittgenstein's work has had a profound influence on a wide range of fields, including psychology, linguistics, computer science, and the arts. He is often considered to be one of the founders of the analytic tradition in philosophy, which emphasizes the use of logical analysis and argument to solve philosophical problems. Despite his contributions to philosophy, Wittgenstein was a complex and enigmatic figure who often resisted interpretation and resisted the label of "philosopher." He died in 1951 at the age of 62.
