Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz was a German philosopher, mathematician, and polymath who lived in the 17th and 18th centuries. Leibniz also made important contributions to the field of physics, and his ideas on the nature of space and time influenced later thinkers like Immanuel Kant.
